Reflection for 3rd Quarter

Throughout this quarter, I have gained valuable knowledge, especially in coding for our CBR. I discovered new ways to analyze information, improved my teamwork skills, and developed a deeper understanding of coding. Like any learning experience, I faced several challenges. Some of the major difficulties was time management, complex lessons, group work struggles. It was tough to balance schoolwork, extracurricular activities, and personal time.  To overcome these obstacles, I adopted better time management strategies, sought help from my teachers and classmates, and remained persistent in my studies. I also learned to stay patient and work collaboratively, which helped in overcoming group challenges. As I continue my academic journey, I will strive to improve my weaknesses and build on my strengths. I plan to manage my time more efficiently, participate more in class, seek more learning opportunities. By doing so, I hope to make the next quarter even more productive and fulfi...

Why Do Filipinos Observe the Celebration of Chinese New Year?

Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is one of the most widely celebrated holidays worldwide, and in the Philippines, it holds special significance. Filipinos observe this festivity due to the long-standing influence of Chinese culture in the country. The strong relationship between the Filipino and Chinese communities dates back centuries, primarily through trade, intermarriage, and shared traditions.   One of the main reasons Filipinos celebrate Chinese New Year is the belief in good fortune, prosperity, and happiness. The event is marked by dragon and lion dances, firecrackers, wearing red clothes for luck, and preparing special dishes like tikoy (sticky rice cake) and dumplings, which symbolize wealth and unity. Many Filipino families and businesses participate in these traditions, hoping for a prosperous year ahead.   Moreover, the celebration showcases the rich cultural diversity of the Philippines. It promotes unity and appreciation of C...

New Year, New version of myself.

Image
Before the year started I didn't do anything much other than be mean to people (jk). Most of the year I spend it at school. Whenever I'm at home all I do is clean, wash the dishes, do the laundry, and so on. I can say that it was a bit boring, other than I met new peoples that have been part of my life now, I also lost some people in my life last year but it made me realize to be strong at all times in order to make them proud even if their watching me from above now. Last year was a real challenge because I had lost some most important peoples in my life who supports and love me unconditionally. Such as my parents, my mama amd papa (tita and tito), my cousins, friends, lover, and everyone else. This year I promised myself to be much stronger and face the challenges that may come my way. I also promised myself that everytime I feel like giving up, I'll remember those who believe, supports, and love me. My new year's resolution is to be much kinder to people and to cha...

How I spent my Christmas Vacation

Image
I spent my  Christmas vacation by cleaning at home, preparing myself for the hard battle to help prepare foods and wash the dishes needed. I also spent my Christmas by babysitting my nephews and kittens . As for the rest of the Christmas vacation all I did was lay in bed, use my phone, sleep, eat, clean, and fix my wardrobe. Nothing special at all. At December 24, I washed the dishes and asked my dad on what will we eat since he doesn't have the time to cook since he have work for that day. So I washed the dishes and cooked some rice and that's pretty much what I did and waited for him to come home. After that he went home with Lechong manok and that's what we ate. However my cousins called us telling us to go to their home and eat and so we did. We ate bbq, palabok, spaghetti, and so on. After that we went home and played Mobile Legends. At Christmas I went out with someone and spent the day with that person, we went to McDonald's to eat, we went to different places, t...

Mga Katutubo At KAtutubong Dunong: Celebrating 27 years of IPRA and Honoring Indigenous Peoples in the Philippines

Image
October marks National Indigenous Peoples Month in the Philippines, a time to celebrate and reflect on the rich tapestry of cultures and traditions that Indigenous Peoples (IPs) bring to our nation. This year, the commemoration holds special significance as it marks the 27th anniversary of the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997. The theme, "Mga Katutubo at Katutubong Dunong: Pahalagahan, Pangalagaan at Parangalana" (Valuing, Nurturing, and Honoring Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous Knowledge), underscores the importance of recognizing and protecting the rights and knowledge systems of IPs. This observance is not just a celebration; it's a crucial step towards ensuring their continued existence and contribution to Philippine society.   The National Indigenous Peoples Month actively promotes and protects IP rights through various activities, including educational campaigns, cultural performances, and policy dialogues. These initiatives raise awareness about the ...

Reflection Q2

My journey learning about ICT has been fascinating! I've come to appreciate its incredible power to connect people across vast distances, share information instantaneously, and automate complex tasks. I've also learned about the ethical considerations involved – the importance of responsible use, data privacy, and combating misinformation. It's a constantly evolving field, and I'm excited to continue learning and exploring its potential to improve lives and solve problems. The sheer scale of information available and the speed at which it's processed is both awe-inspiring and humbling. Beyond the initial excitement of connection and speed, my understanding of ICT has deepened to encompass its multifaceted nature. I've learned that ICT isn't just about technology itself, but also the social, economic, and political contexts in which it operates. The digital divide, for example, highlights the inequalities that can arise from unequal access to technology and...

The effect of climate change in the Philippines and their resilience

Image
The Philippines, an archipelago of over 7,000 islands, is acutely vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.  The predominant reasons for the sudden and progressive environmental changes adversely affecting Filipinos are multifaceted and interconnected.  Rising sea levels threaten coastal communities, while increasingly intense typhoons cause widespread destruction and displacement.  Changes in rainfall patterns lead to prolonged droughts in some areas and devastating floods in others, impacting agriculture and food security.  These changes are not merely environmental; they have profound social, economic, and health consequences for millions of Filipinos.   The reasons behind these changes are largely attributed to global warming, driven by human activities that release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.  Deforestation, unsustainable agricultural practices, and industrial pollution all contribute to this phenomenon.  The resulting increase...
